Robin Elenga - Founder & CEO
Blue Nile founder and CEO Robin Elenga didn't set out to build a vibrator. As someone who's passionate about understanding how things, systems, and people work, Robin saw a problem and knew there had to be a better way. Known as a guy who likes to identify and solve complex problems, he began laying the groundwork for the revolutionary Blue Nile sonic vibrator, a product six years in the making.
Prior to founding Blue Nile, Robin spent more than 12 years consulting for Fortune 500 companies. Robin founded three successful start-ups, MobileGIS, Trakleads, and ETS Consulting, and has developed key systems for Microsoft, Nike Supply Chain, Philips Sonicare, Intermec Technologies, and others. As a six-year member of Seattle's largest investment group, Alliance of Angels, Robin has invested in a number of successful Seattle startups, but Blue Nile truly represents his desire to make a significant impact on the general consumer.
"I am passionate about solving problems and making people's lives better. These are important aspects of every company I've started or supported. I believe Blue Nile is a real opportunity to help people improve their lives by creating a positive view of sexual wellness, and giving them the tools to do so."
A resident of Seattle's Upper Queen Anne neighborhood, Elenga grew up in Washington State. When he's not working on the next big idea, Elenga likes to spend time with his family, cooking with his wife, or taking apart something interesting with his son, who shares his knack for engineering.
